Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipEarly March has its own personality here in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.
People start thinking green, not just because we're on the cusp of spring, but because so many people here celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
Indeed, there is a rich history of Irish immigration to the area, and each year, Ireland and Irish culture is celebrated with dancing and traditional foods, not to mention the many parades in the area.
But this year, there's a new tradition to celebrate.
Scranton Fringe Festival announced a cultural exchange with Scranton's sister city Ballina in County Mayo, Ireland.
Locals say the partnership will strengthen the relationship between the two cities, which began in 1990.
On this program, we'll talk with artists from Scranton Fringe about their traditions, what they're planning with our Irish friends from across the pond, and how and where you can celebrate Irish heritage, whether or not you have Irish roots.
